Course Description in college catalog:

An introduction to the use of synthesizers and computers in the production of sequencer-based compositions. Students apply basic techniques by working with professional sequencing programs and synthesizers in the Music Technology Lab.

1. Learn practical techniques and methods for creating musical content through class lectures and demonstrations using software applications and computer workstations

2. Gain an understanding of the architecture of electronic keyboards, and of fundamental concepts related to computer systems, digital audio, MIDI, sound synthesis, sound effects processing, and mixing and mastering.

3. Ample attention will be given to understanding how this technology has shaped and defined electronic music over the past 50 years.
